West End-Cobb Town is an unincorporated census-designated place in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 3,924. It is included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 3,924 people, 1,646 households, and 1,120 families residing in the community. The population density was 951.5 people per square mile (367.7/km²). There were 1,861 housing units at an average density of 451.3 per square mile (174.4/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 77.70% White, 20.01% Black or African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.05% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 1.30% from two or more races. 0.89% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,646 households out of which 24.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.8% were married couples living together, 17.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.91.

In the community the population was spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 90.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.2 males.

The median income for a household in the community was $22,418, and the median income for a family was $28,544. Males had a median income of $25,955 versus $18,608 for females. The per capita income for the community was $13,067.
